Woman killed in single-vehicle accident on Highway 79 south of Hannibal

A 28-year-old woman from New London, Missouri, was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on Highway 79, approximately five miles south of Hannibal, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Rachel Nodine was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 truck southbound on Highway 79 when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Nodine was ejected from the truck during the crash. Authorities confirmed that she was not wearing a seat belt during the accident.

Nodine was pronounced deceased at the scene by Ralls County Deputy Coroner Austin Simmons at 9:38 a.m.

The vehicle was totaled and was towed by Roberts Towing.

The crash was investigated by Trooper Geren, who was assisted by Trooper Johnson, Master Sergeant Koch, the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department, Marion County Ambulance, and the New London Police Department.
