U.S. District Judge John A. Ross sentenced Devion X. Gordon, 29, of Wellston, Missouri, to over 12 years in prison (150 months) on Wednesday. The sentence follows Gordon’s guilty plea in March to charges of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine base, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The investigation, led by the FBI and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, culminated in a court-approved search of Gordon’s home in Wellston in May 2023. Investigators discovered a loaded .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol, 803 grams of fentanyl, and 507 grams of cocaine base. Additionally, they found $18,000 in cash, four digital scales, two blenders with residue, plastic bags, capsules, and notebooks detailing transactions.

As a convicted felon, Gordon is legally barred from possessing firearms. His possession of the firearm, combined with the significant quantities of fentanyl and cocaine base, led to severe penalties.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian Goeke prosecuted the case, underscoring the collaborative efforts between the FBI and local law enforcement in securing the conviction and sentence.
