An 18-year-old woman from Paris, Missouri, Anna J. Smith, was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 3:29 p.m., approximately half a mile east of Holliday on Highway 24.
Smith was driving a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle eastbound when her car veered off the road, collided with multiple objects, and overturned. The Volkswagen sustained extensive damage and was subsequently towed from the scene by A1 Towing.
Despite the severity of the crash, Smith, who was wearing her seat belt, suffered only minor injuries. She refused treatment at the scene and was not transported to a hospital.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by personnel from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and Madison Fire Department in responding to the accident.
