A traffic collision involving two law enforcement vehicles occurred on Highway 33, approximately four miles south of Lathrop, Missouri, at around 6:10 p.m. on December 13, 2023. The accident involved a 2023 Ford Interceptor and a 2020 Dodge Durango, both traveling southbound and responding to an emergency call.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Ford Interceptor, driven by 23-year-old Jace T. Hickman of Plattsburg, Missouri, slowed to make a left turn when the Dodge Durango, operated by 25-year-old Jacob I. Hutton of Lathrop, Missouri, swerved left to avoid a collision. The Durango struck the Ford on the driver’s side, causing both vehicles to veer off the road, where the Durango collided with a fence post. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.

Hickman suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Holt Fire to Liberty Hospital. Both drivers were reported to be wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
