The Highway Patrol is reporting the arrest of a Kansas City, Kansas man who allegedly led authorities on a high-speed pursuit from Brookfield to near Macon.
A trooper had attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding near Brookfield, around 11:30 yesterday morning, Monday, March 21. Officials say the driver of the vehicle failed to yield, resulting in a pursuit that led to Macon.
The suspect pulled over, bailed from the vehicle, attempting to flee into a wooded area behind a home. It was there troopers apprehended him shortly after the noon hour Monday. Troopers also report the apprehension of a passenger.
The highway patrol’s arrest report shows multiple charges pending against 28-year-old Victor Campos of Kansas City, Kansas.
The list includes a felony warrant from Wyandotte County, Kansas; a fugitive out-of-state warrant; resisting arrest; failure to yield to an emergency vehicle; driving the wrong direction on a divided highway; endangering a highway worker; possession of drug paraphernalia; careless and imprudent driving; failure to display valid license speeds; and speeding.
A companion also was arrested yesterday in Macon County. 21-year-old Alexis Delany of Kirksville has been accused of resisting or interfering with an arrest.
