U-Haul driver seriously injured in Highway 156 rollover crash

In the early hours of the morning on March 31, 2024, a crash occurred on Highway 156, approximately three miles east of La Plata, Missouri. A 2023 GMC box truck, operated by Jared P. Bourque, 29, of New Iberia, Louisiana, left the roadway, struck the ground, and overturned. Bourque was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened around 7:30 a.m. The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by MU Air Service to the University of Missouri Hospital for treatment. The truck, which was traveling westbound before the accident, suffered total damage and was towed from the scene by Still’s Towing.

Authorities from the Macon County Sheriff’s Department, Macon County Rescue, Macon County EMS, and La Plata First Responders assisted at the site of the crash.
