A two-vehicle collision occurred on July 24, 2024, at 1:23 p.m. on Highway 36 in Brookfield, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Ronald D. Linebaugh, 78, of Brookfield, Missouri, collided with a 2003 International 9400i, driven by Michael W. Starkey, 72, of Columbus, Nebraska. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

The accident happened when the Chevrolet Silverado failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the International 9400i, which was traveling westbound. Linebaugh sustained moderate injuries despite wearing a seat belt and was transported by Linn County EMS to Pershing Memorial Hospital. Starkey, who was also wearing a seat belt, reported no injuries.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Department, Linn County EMS, Brookfield Police Department, and Brookfield Fire Department assisted at the scene.
