Two-vehicle crash at Highway 65 in Chillicothe leaves one injured

A two-vehicle collision occurred at 4:23 p.m. on August 21, 2024, at the north Chillicothe city limits on Highway 65. The crash involved a 2013 RAM pickup and a 2018 Nissan Titan.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 2013 RAM pickup, driven by Terry A. Breer, 59, of Chillicothe, Missouri, was traveling northbound on Highway 65. The 2018 Nissan Titan, driven by John T. Riead, 64, also of Chillicothe, Missouri, was heading westbound on LIV 228. The accident occurred when the Nissan Titan attempted a left turn onto Highway 65 and was struck by the RAM pickup, which traveled through a controlled intersection.

The RAM pickup sustained moderate damage and was towed by Brotherton’s. The Nissan Titan was totaled and towed by Gabrielson’s.

John T. Riead, the driver of the Nissan Titan, sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Hedrick Medical Center. Riead was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. Terry A. Breer, the driver of the RAM pickup, was not wearing a seat belt and did not report any injuries.

The accident scene was attended by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department and the Chillicothe Police Department.
