Two injured in late-night crash near Gower

In the early hours of March 9, 2024, a serious accident occurred on Southeast 140th Road, just four miles north of Gower, in Buchanan County, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2018 RAM 250, driven by 22-year-old Kurtis E. Nelson of Stewartsville, Missouri, was traveling southbound when the driver lost control of the truck. The vehicle then veered off the east side of the road and struck a tree, coming to a halt facing southeast, still on its wheels.

Kurtis E. Nelson and his passenger, 21-year-old Cayden J. Pendleton from Agency, Missouri, both sustained serious injuries in the crash. Neither of them was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. They were transported to Mosaic Life Care by Tri-County Ambulance and Buchanan County EMS for treatment.

The truck sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene by Blue Knight. The crash, which took place around 1:19 a.m., led to the involvement of the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department, assisting at the scene.
