The Trenton R-9 School District has introduced a new districtwide phone number, 660-339-6266, as part of a recent upgrade to its phone system. This change follows a bond issue approved by voters in April.
Office Manager Michelle Hixson explained that the district could not port its previous phone numbers from Mid-States Services to the new phone service. The new phone service is contracted with Quality Network Solutions, which also manages other technology for Trenton R-9.
Hixson highlighted that the upgrade ensures all district phones are now on the same system. This integration allows calls to be transferred seamlessly between schools and the district office. Additionally, it is expected to reduce phone costs and enable staff members to submit tickets for any phone system issues.
As of 10:45 AM on Tuesday, July 30th, an automated attendant was being configured, with Hixson anticipating its readiness by the end of the day. The auto attendant will provide extensions for the district office and various school offices. When calling 660-339-6266, callers can reach the district office by pressing 1, Rissler Elementary School by pressing 2, Trenton Middle School by pressing 3, Trenton High School by pressing 4, and the preschool by pressing 5.
