Trenton Police and Fire Departments report July service activities

The Trenton Police and Fire Departments have released their activity reports for July, detailing a range of services provided to the community.

Police Department Overview

The Trenton Police Department responded to a total of 627 calls for service and self-initiated activities during July. According to the department’s monthly statistics, officers completed 71 incident or offense reports and made 37 field interview contacts. The department also conducted 32 traffic stops, issued 24 warnings for traffic violations, and handed out 14 citations or summons.

In addition to these activities, the police collected nine pounds of unwanted prescriptions, arrested six suspects, and filed six criminal charges as a result of these arrests. They also completed six motor vehicle crash reports.

The Trenton communications center received 1,498 non-emergency phone calls, and 284 emergency phone calls, and had 62 walk-in subjects during the month.

Animal Control Activities

Trenton Animal Control responded to 18 animal complaints in July. The department issued 12 verbal warnings, conducted nine animal welfare checks, and impounded six felines and two canines.

Fire Department Overview

The Trenton Fire Department responded to 74 calls for service in July. The run summary reveals that 39 of these calls were for emergencies, with two being mutual aid emergencies, and 33 being for additional services.

The emergency calls consisted of 22 medical assists, 11 false alarms, and two vehicle fires. Other incidents included one structure fire, one outdoor fire, one overheating situation without fire, and one motor vehicle collision.

The mutual aid emergency calls involved two motor vehicle collisions.

For additional services, the fire department performed 17 residential rental inspections, participated in eight public service or community events, fueled six aircraft, completed one rental reinspection, and installed one residential smoke alarm.

Looking ahead, the Trenton Fire Department’s training for August is set to focus on basic firefighter skills review and hose familiarization.
