Trenton Fire Department handles 59 calls for service in June

The Trenton Fire Department answered 59 calls for service in June 2024, according to a recently released run summary. The calls included 31 emergencies, two mutual aid requests, and 26 additional services.

The June emergency calls comprised 12 medical assists, 11 false alarms, and three motor vehicle collisions. Additionally, there were two hazardous materials incidents and single calls for a structure fire, a vehicle fire, and an outdoor fire.

Mutual aid calls included one vehicle fire and one motor vehicle collision.

The additional services provided by the department included 15 residential rental inspections, three airport inspections, three commercial fire inspections, and two CPR/first aid training classes. They also conducted one aircraft fueling, one residential smoke alarm installation, and one public service or community event.

In June, department-wide training focused on vehicle extrication, pump operations, and hose streams. The July training was scheduled to cover drafting and master streams at the city reservoir.

The Trenton Fire Department reported that the training facility was utilized on ten separate occasions during the second quarter, logging a total of 40 man-hours.
