Trenton city sales tax revenue for first quarter up by 9.4 percent

Trenton city sales tax revenue for the first quarter of the fiscal year has shown a notable increase, with a 9.4 percent rise for general purposes and capital projects and a 7.5 percent increase for parks, transportation, and fire department needs.

These figures reflect the sales tax money received from May through July, compared to the same period last year. Additionally, local use tax revenue on purchases from out-of-state vendors delivered to Trenton rose by 6.3 percent during the same period.

In total, Trenton city sales tax receipts so far in the fiscal year amount to nearly $240,000 for general purposes, nearly $120,000 for capital projects, $106,000 for parks, more than $79,000 for transportation, and $53,000 for fire department needs.

Trenton’s local use tax has generated more than $92,000 in revenue in the first three months of the fiscal year.
