The Trenton City Council is scheduled to hold a public hearing to set the 2024 tax levy and consider three ordinances during its upcoming meeting. The meeting will take place at the Trenton City Hall on August 26 at 7 p.m. and will be accessible online via Zoom.

The proposed tax levy for 2024 amounts to $1.1889 per $100 of assessed property value, which includes $1 for general purposes and 18.89 cents designated for parks.

One of the ordinances to be reviewed would establish the levy rate for all real estate and personal property within the City of Trenton for the year 2024.

The council will also consider two additional ordinances. The first would approve a proposal with Poor Boy Tree Service, Incorporated for an hourly rate agreement. The second ordinance involves an amendment to an engineering contract with Allstate Consultants, LLC.

The agenda for the August 26 meeting further includes discussions on the cost of materials for a 2,400-volt conversion project and the disposal of a five-inch fire hose. A closed session is also planned to address legal matters.
