Three-vehicle crash on Highway 63 leaves drivers injured near Renick

On August 21, 2024, at approximately 2:05 p.m., a three-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 63, one mile east of Renick, Missouri. The crash resulted in injuries to all drivers involved and significant damage to the vehicles.

The crash happened when Sarah E. Dowling, 20, of Moberly, Missouri, driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 westbound, failed to yield to southbound traffic. Her vehicle was struck by a 2016 GMC Yukon Denali driven by Caitlin D. Magers, 27, of Novinger, Missouri. Following this, a 2019 Ford F150, driven by Daniel W. Hager, 51, of Wellsville, Missouri, collided with Magers’ vehicle. All three vehicles then traveled off the west side of the roadway, with the GMC Yukon striking a sign and overturning.

Injuries:

  • Sarah E. Dowling, 20, of Moberly, Missouri: Minor injuries. Transported by private conveyance to Moberly Regional Medical Center.
  • Caitlin D. Magers, 27, of Novinger, Missouri: Moderate injuries. Transported by Randolph County Ambulance to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.
  • Daniel W. Hager, 51, of Wellsville, Missouri: Moderate injuries. Transported by Boone Ambulance Service to the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

All vehicles involved were towed from the scene due to extensive damage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, and Eastern Randolph Rural Fire Department assisted at the scene.
