Teen driver injured in head-on crash southeast of Macon

A collision occurred on August 27, 2024, at 4:05 p.m., approximately six miles southeast of Macon, Missouri, on Mallard Avenue. The accident involved a 2002 Dodge Dakota and a 2021 Ram 3500.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a juvenile from Anabel, Missouri, was driving the Dodge Dakota northbound when it traveled into the path of the southbound Ram 3500, resulting in a head-on collision. The Dodge Dakota sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Still’s Towing. The driver of the Dakota, a 16-year-old boy, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. He suffered minor injuries and was transported by Macon County EMS to Samaritan Hospital in Macon.

The driver of the Ram 3500, identified as 57-year-old Albert R. Biere from Callao, Missouri, was not wearing a seat belt. The Ram 3500 sustained extensive damage and was also towed by Still’s Towing. No injuries were reported for Biere.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, including Master Sergeant Ritter and Trooper Sapp, assisted at the scene of the crash.
