Mercer County Spelling Bee winner announced
Princeton R-5 student Emma Walkup has won the Mercer County Spelling Bee and earned a spot at the Regional Spelling Bee in Saint Joseph. Walkup correctly spelled the word docile in Round 8 of the Mercer County Bee and then won by spelling courteous in Round 9.
Winners announced in Grundy County Spelling Bee
Trenton Middle School student Kaylea Boyle won the Grundy County Spelling Bee on Wednesday. Boyle won with the word fiery, Trenton Middle School student Titus Kottwitz was the runner up. The first alternate is Lainie Lewis of Laredo, the second alternate is Zane Michael of Trenton. The Regional Spelling Bee will be in Saint Joseph.
Laredo Board of Education approves makeup days
