Table Rock Lake incident causes serious injuries to Oklahoma man

A boating accident on Table Rock Lake on August 31, 2024, left a 29-year-old man from Chandler, Oklahoma, seriously injured. The incident occurred at approximately 4:49 p.m. in the Fishers Creek Cove area, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident involved a 1996 Yamaha Wave Runner, operated by Brandon S. Williams, 51, of Chandler, Oklahoma. The watercraft was towing a kneeboard with Bret D. Castle, 29, also of Chandler, as a passenger. As the Yamaha Wave Runner and kneeboard approached the shoreline, Castle struck a large rock and was thrown onto the shore.

Castle sustained serious injuries in the incident. He was wearing a flotation device at the time of the accident and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment. Williams, the driver of the Wave Runner, was not injured and drove the watercraft from the scene.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, assisted by Sergeant R. A. Sanders and Corporal A. B. Ward, conducted the investigation.
