The Sullivan County Health Department is set to host a Safe Sitter Essentials class at the Milan Community Center on August 2, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This class aims to equip students with essential skills to stay safe while home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting.

The instructor-led session will include interactive games and role-playing exercises, allowing students to engage in practical learning. Participants will also practice crucial skills, such as choking rescue, using mannequins.

The class fee is $15, which includes a Safe Sitter kit. Lunch will be provided, and participants are advised to list any food allergies or sensitivities during registration.

Pre-registration is mandatory and must be completed by July 31, with payment due at the time of registration. To sign up for the Safe Sitter Essentials class, call the Sullivan County Health Department at 660-265-4141.
