Crash on Highway 6 near Galt injures Milan woman

A single-vehicle accident occurred on July 12, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., three miles west of Galt on Highway 6. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2003 Ford Focus, driven by Brenda J. Johnson, 52, of Milan, Missouri, was traveling eastbound when the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway.

According to the report, Johnson overcorrected, causing the vehicle to veer off the right side of the road. The front right of the Ford Focus struck a fence row, leading to the vehicle overturning and coming to rest on its top off the south side of the roadway.

Brenda J. Johnson sustained moderate injuries in the crash. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. Johnson was transported by Grundy County Ambulance to Wright Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Ewing’s Towing.
