A single-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 136 west of Neon Road, approximately 1.5 miles west of Ravenwood, at 7:30 p.m. on August 4, 2024. The incident involved a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by Taylor R. Coffelt, a 24-year-old woman from Ravenwood, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened as the Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Highway 136. The vehicle veered off the north side of the road, began skidding, and then overcorrected. The SUV returned to the roadway, crossed the centerline, and went off the south side of the highway. The front of the vehicle struck an embankment, overturned, impacted the embankment again, and finally came to rest on its wheels in a ditch on the south side of the roadway, facing southeast.

The Ford Explorer was totaled in the crash and was towed from the scene by Kizers.

The Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryville Police Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol with the incident.
