Robert Johnson obit photoRobert “Bob” Donald Johnson, age 87, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, and a former resident of St. Peters, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Bob was born to Burt Parker and Berniece (Quandt) Johnson on November 1, 1936, in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he earned his degree in engineering and naval science. Bob later attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, earning a Master of Business Administration. He was married to Prudence Bloom on December 19, 1960, in San Francisco, California. She preceded him in death on March 3, 2024. Bob served in the United States Navy for 20 years and then worked in inventory management and consulting for several years. He was an enthusiast of model trains and enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include two sons, Andrew “Drew” Robert Johnson and his wife, Belinda, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Christopher Thomas Johnson and his wife, Bridget, of Jaffrey, New Hampshire. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Clayton Johnson, Shain Johnson, Garrett Johnson, Dylon Johnson, Dayton Johnson, Amora Quinn and her husband, Matt, Dale Johnson, Michael Johnson, and Mikayla Johnson; one great-grandson, Jamie Quinn; and one sister, Betty Burt of San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Prudence, and one brother, Richard Johnson.

Cremation has taken place. Plans for a celebration of life are being made, but no details are available at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hedrick Medical Center Foundation and can be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
