Rear-end crash on Highway 136 west of Kahoka injures one

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Highway 136, two miles west of Kahoka, Missouri, at approximately 8:15 a.m. on August 9, 2024.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 21-year-old Cameron J. Pierce of Huntington, Minnesota, and a 2018 Dodge Ram driven by 53-year-old Sherie A. Sommers of Luray, Missouri.

The accident happened when the Chevrolet Equinox, traveling westbound, slowed to make a turn and was struck from behind by the Dodge Ram, which was also westbound. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by Brewer and Son’s Towing.

Pierce, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported by Clark County Ambulance to Scotland County Hospital for treatment. Sommers, also wearing a seat belt, was not reported to be injured.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Department and Clark County Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
