Rear-end collision near Chillicothe totals two vehicles

A collision occurred on Highway 65, five miles south of Chillicothe, on July 18, 2024, at approximately 11:47 a.m. The accident involved a 2003 Toyota Forerunner and a 2010 Chevrolet Colorado.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened as both vehicles were traveling southbound. The Toyota Forerunner, driven by Judy L. Frazier, 75, of Chillicothe, Missouri, began to slow down to make a turn when the Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Donald O. Bevelle, 91, also of Chillicothe, Missouri, struck the Forerunner from the rear. Both vehicles came to rest on the west shoulder of Highway 65.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Donald O. Bevelle sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Hedrick Medical Center. Judy L. Frazier did not report any injuries.

The Toyota Forerunner and the Chevrolet Colorado were both totaled in the accident. The Forerunner was towed by Brothertons, and the Colorado was towed by Gabrielsons.

The Livingston County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
