Ray County crash injures 14-year-old girl, 16-year-old driver

A single-vehicle accident involving a 2008 Ford Focus resulted in injuries to two juveniles on August 6, 2024, at approximately 2:22 p.m. The accident occurred at the intersection of Crispin Street and Lepzig Lane in Ray County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle was driven by a 16-year-old boy from Richmond, Missouri, who was traveling eastbound on Crispin Street when the vehicle veered off the right side of the road and overturned. The driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The vehicle was significantly damaged and was towed from the scene by Green’s Automotive. The juvenile driver sustained minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.

A 14-year-old girl from Richmond, Missouri, was a passenger in the vehicle and also not wearing a seat belt. She suffered moderate injuries and was transported by Ray County Ambulance to Richmond Hospital for treatment.

The incident was assisted by Trooper A. C. Hunolt of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
