The National Weather Service has predicted ongoing rainfall across northern Missouri throughout mid to late morning, with additional rainfall expected later this week. According to the latest forecast, the region is set to experience locally moderate to heavy rainfall, which could lead to minor flooding in some areas.

The first wave of rainfall, as indicated by the forecast, will bring an additional 0.25 to 1.5 inches of rain across the region, with areas such as Moberly and Columbia receiving up to 2 inches. Severe storms are not expected, but the persistent nature of the rainfall may lead to localized flooding issues, especially in low-lying areas.

As the week progresses, the forecast predicts another round of rainfall from Tuesday to Wednesday. This second wave is expected to bring between 1.5 and 2.3 inches of rain to central Missouri, with areas like Chillicothe, Moberly, and Columbia again at the highest risk for heavy rainfall. The heaviest and most persistent rainfall activity will likely result in further flooding concerns in these regions.
