Purdin man arrested for felony driving while intoxicated

The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of a Purdin resident on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated as a habitual offender. The Highway Patrol arrested 67-year-old Denis Logan Linard on August 5.

Bond was set at $40,000 cash with North Missouri Court Services and SCRAM for alcohol monitoring. Linard is scheduled to appear in the Associate Division of Grundy County Circuit Court on August 13.

Linard is accused of operating a motor vehicle at Fourth Avenue and Main Street in Grundy County on August 4 while under the influence of alcohol.

Prosecuting Attorney Kelly Puckett indicates that Linard is a habitual offender and is required to serve a minimum of two years in imprisonment before being eligible for parole.

Linard pleaded guilty in Clinton County Circuit Court in June 1994 to driving while intoxicated for events occurring in December 1993. He has also been convicted of DWI multiple times, including in Platte County Circuit Court in November 1999 for events occurring in February 1999, Municipal Clinton County Circuit Court in July 2000 for events occurring in May 2000, Clinton County Circuit Court in July 2001 for events occurring in September 2000, and Pettis County Circuit Court in July 2007 for events occurring in January 2007.
