Prison sentences and probation announced in Grundy County Circuit Court

Sentences and probation were announced Thursday for cases processed in Division One of the Grundy County Circuit Court.

Amber Nycole Leeper, a Princeton resident, pleaded guilty to one case and had her probation revoked in another. Leeper entered a plea for an April 19 charge of driving while intoxicated – persistent offender. A count regarding unlawful possession of a firearm was dismissed. The court revoked probation for a November 2021 charge of forgery. Leeper was sentenced to serve four years with the Department of Corrections for each felony count, with terms to run concurrently.

Jennifer Ann Kelley of Trenton pleaded guilty to four counts from a May 10 arrest. She was sentenced to seven years for third-degree assault of a special victim and four years for resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. The court suspended the execution of the concurrent sentences and placed Kelley on five years of supervised probation. She is to donate $300 to the law enforcement restitution fund and pay $176 as restitution to the victim. For misdemeanor counts of second-degree harassment and second-degree property damage, Kelley received credit for serving three days per count at the Grundy County Detention Center.

Robert Glenn Blozvich Jr., a Spickard resident, pleaded guilty to two felonies and one misdemeanor count from a June 28 incident in Trenton. Prison sentences of four years each were ordered for leaving the scene of a property damage accident and first-degree property damage, to be served consecutively. The court suspended the execution of the prison time and placed Blozvich on five years of supervised probation. He is to make a $300 donation to the law enforcement restitution fund, pay $7,200 in restitution to North Central Missouri College for damages to the Russ Derry practice facility, and $200 as a recoupment fee to the Trenton Police Department. Blozvich must also have alcohol monitoring and enter the Third Circuit Court treatment program. For the charge of driving while intoxicated, Blozvich received credit for serving 13 days in jail.

Heather Montana Berry of St. Joseph pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary and felony stealing valued at $750 or more as of March 28. Berry was placed on five years of supervised probation. Conditions include a donation of $300 to the law enforcement restitution fund and $6,200 in other restitution, with monthly payments of $200.

Carli Beth Hendricks of Trenton pleaded guilty to two felony counts from June 19. The imposition of a sentence was suspended in favor of five years of supervised probation. Conditions include 30 days of shock incarceration at the Grundy County Detention Center, with credit given for serving 21 days. Hendricks is to pay $929 in restitution, donate $300 to the law enforcement restitution fund, and have no contact with the victim.

Hearings were also held Thursday on probation violations, resulting in probation revocation by the court.

Cole Wright of Trenton admitted to a violation and had his probation revoked. Prison sentences were ordered for original counts from May 2021: four years for driving while revoked or suspended and four years for resisting or interfering with an arrest for a felony. The terms will be served concurrently. The court suspended the execution of the sentences and placed Wright on five years of supervised probation. He is required to complete the Oxford House program with no minimum supervision. Wright appeared in court in Trenton after authorities picked him up from the Western Regional Diagnostic Center in St. Joseph.

Benjamin Leach of Cameron had his probation revoked after admitting to a violation. Leach was sentenced to three years with the Department of Corrections for an April 2022 charge of possession of a controlled substance or synthetic cannabinoid. Leach was given credit for the time served in Grundy County custody.

Bevan James Bohm of Kansas City also had his probation revoked. A previous two-count sentence was executed: seven years each for stealing a motor vehicle and stealing valued at $750 or more, both from January 2020. The sentences are concurrent. Bohm was given credit for time served in the county jail awaiting the disposition of the charges. Bohm is to pay $113 in restitution.
