A woman from Princeton is facing a drug charge in Livingston County following her arrest by Chillicothe Police on Saturday night. The arrest occurred after officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Calhoun and Locust Streets.

According to a probable cause statement, police spoke with 31-year-old Jacklyn Shirley Ormsby of Princeton, who allegedly admitted that the accident was her fault after driving through a stop sign.

Chillicothe police, according to the probable cause statement, noticed both hypodermic needles and a baggie with residue inside the vehicle. They were also able to seize Ormsby’s purse after her initial resistance. The purse, police said, contained fentanyl, methamphetamine, and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Ormsby was arrested and has been charged with possession of a controlled substance listed as methamphetamine, delivery of a controlled substance listed as fentanyl, and resisting or interfering with an arrest. The officer’s prepared statement noted Ormsby allegedly had more than 1.5 grams of fentanyl in her possession.

She was also described as being on probation for previous charges of tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

Following an appearance in the associate division of Livingston County Circuit Court, Ormsby is held at the Caldwell County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond. A bond hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, at the courthouse in Chillicothe.
