Trenton Municipal Utilities Director Ron Urton provided details about a power outage that occurred Tuesday morning, affecting customers in parts of northern and eastern Trenton.

Shortly after 10 a.m., Urton reported that a dump truck was exiting the street department following a delivery of rock. The truck’s dump bed had not been lowered, causing it to catch on power lines. The incident resulted in two broken poles and the truck overturning onto its side. The accident happened just east of the intersection of 16th Street and Lord Street.

TMU crews worked to restore electricity, and power was back on for affected customers after about 30 minutes.
