One dead, three injured in Interstate 35 crash near Eagleville

A  single-vehicle crash occurred on July 21, 2024, at approximately 4:58 p.m. on Interstate 35 northbound at mile marker 113, about seven miles north of Eagleville, Missouri. The crash involved a 2012 Kia Sorento, resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the vehicle was traveling northbound when it veered off the west side of the roadway into the median, struck an emergency crossover, became airborne, impacted the ground, overturned multiple times and came to rest on its top facing south.

Injuries and Fatality

  • Victor B. Imad, (Fatality) 31, of Manhattan, Kansas, occupant, was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Harrison County Coroner Zach Wilson. He was transported by the Harrison County Coroner to Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany, Missouri.
  • Reena Bedros, 27, of Woodbury, Minnesota, occupant, sustained serious injuries and was not wearing a seat belt. She was transported by North Harrison Ambulance to Lamoni Hospital and then airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.
  • Carla E. Bedros, 59, of Woodbury, Minnesota, occupant, sustained serious injuries and was wearing a seat belt. She was transported by Decatur County Ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital.
  • Karam J. Bedros, 65, of Woodbury, Minnesota, driver, sustained serious injuries and was wearing a seat belt. He was transported by Decatur County Ambulance to Harrison County Community Hospital and then transferred by NTA Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Young’s Towing.

Authorities from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, Decatur County Iowa Sheriff’s Office, Lamoni Iowa Police Department, Harrison County First Responders, and Decatur County Iowa First Responders assisted at the scene.
