Helen Marie Stevens, 88, of Blythedale, MO, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at a hospital in Leon, IA.
She was born on September 24, 1935, in Harrison County, Missouri, the daughter of Willard Sherman and Goldie (Hammond) King.
On May 24, 1953, she married Virgil Stevens in Mt. Moriah, MO. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2021.
Helen graduated from Mt. Moriah High School in 1953 and was a member of the Christian Church in Blythedale, MO. She loved her flowers, hummingbirds, and deer, and enjoyed going to Texas during the winter months.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lois Oxford.
Helen is survived by her daughters, Terri (Lester) Johns of Bethany, MO, and Rosetta (Doug) Waychus of Blythedale, MO; son, Doug Stevens of St. Joseph, MO; grandchildren, Lance (Jan) Johns, David (Dianne) Johns, Tim (Polly) Johns, Christina (Morris) Pittsenbarger, Danielle (Chris) Patterson, Markus Hamlett, Sherman Lee Stevens, Nick Stevens, and Megan (Thad) Landers; along with many great and great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, at Roberson Funeral Home in Eagleville, MO. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Boys Town in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Eagleville, MO 64442.
