Candice Quillen obit photoCandice Babette Quillen, age 76, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Candice was born the daughter of Howard and Mary Ruth (Brown) Appleby on February 22, 1947, in Maryville, Missouri. She was a graduate of Maryville High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville. On March 23, 1968, she married Ed Quillen in Maryville, Missouri. He survives of the home.

Candice was employed as an office manager at Holt Animal Clinic for 18 years, as well as at other doctors’ offices throughout her career. She was a member of the Lathrop Trap Club, local garden clubs, and the Pony Express Camping Club. She enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time in her flower gardens. Candice loved decorating for the holidays and caring for her pets. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s events.

She is survived by her husband, Ed; one son, Ed Quillen, II and wife, Shelley, of Forest Lake, Minnesota; one daughter, Tiffany Walker and husband, Brice, of Chillicothe, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kyra Quillen, Clayton Walker, and Claire Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Paula Damien Appleby.

A graveside service will be held at Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville, Missouri, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O Triplett Animal Shelter and/or Livingston County Veterans Association and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
