The 107th Northwest Missouri State Fair in Bethany has begun, with activities scheduled daily through Labor Day Monday. On opening day, officials are offering free admission to the fairgrounds for all visitors, marking “Family Day.”

A parade is scheduled for this evening. Participants are encouraged to gather at the Bethany community gym beginning at 5 p.m. The parade will start at 6 p.m., with the route taking entries from the gym, proceeding west on Main Street, and then heading south on 12th Street to the fairgrounds. The parade is expected to feature a variety of participants, including local clubs, businesses, individuals, antique cars, and tractors.

The fair’s liberal arts section has attracted numerous exhibits, and many vendors have set up booths. The exhibit building will be open each day starting at 11 a.m.

This evening’s grandstand event at 7 p.m. will feature a performance by “Fast Times.” Tickets for the grandstand are priced at $10 per person, with children aged 10 and under admitted for free.

Livestock competitions will begin tomorrow and continue through the weekend, culminating in a premium sale for youth exhibitors on Sunday.
