The North Central Missouri Fair is set to offer a range of exciting activities for attendees on August 1, 2024, in Trenton. The fair promises a fun-filled day with events catering to all ages and interests, including flower exhibits, food, music, and animal shows.

Flower Division and FFA Cookshack

The day’s festivities will commence with the Flower Division at the Rock Barn. Participants can register their exhibits between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

The FFA Cookshack will open its doors, offering daily specials such as pulled pork nachos and drinks for $5, along with a selection of desserts, burgers, hot dogs, and chips available from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Poultry and Rabbit Shows

A highlight of the fair will be the Poultry and Rabbit Shows. Registration and setup for participants are required by 3:00 p.m., with the show starting at 4:00 p.m. The poultry competition will precede the rabbit show.

Rabbit Show Classes

The rabbit show classes will feature a variety of breeds in both six-class and four-class categories. Rabbits must be in place by 4:00 p.m., and showmanship will begin at the same time, with judging starting at 5:30 p.m.

  • Six Class Rabbit Breeds include American, American Chinchilla, Argente Brun, Beveren, Blanc de Hotot, Californian, Champagne d’Argent, Checkered Giant, Cinnamon, Crème d’Argent, English Lop, Flemish Giant, French Lop, Giant Angora, Giant Chinchilla, New Zealand, Palomino, Satin, Silver Fox, and Crossbred LG (mature weight 9 lbs or more).
  • Four Class Rabbit Breeds feature American Fuzzy Lop, American Sable, Belgian Hare, Blue Holicer, Britannia Petite, Dutch, Dwarf Hotot, Dwarf Papillon, English Angora, English Spot, Florida White, French Angora, Harlequin, Havana, Himalayan, Holland Lop, Jersey Wooly, Lilac, Lionhead, Mini Lop, Mini Rex, Mini Satin, Netherland Dwarf, Polish, Rex, Rhinelander, Satin Angora, Silver, Silver Marten, Standard Chinchilla, Tan, Thrianta, Czech Frosty, and Crossbred SM (mature weight under 9 lbs).

Rabbit Show Classes Breakdown

  • Class 601: Senior Buck (8 months or older)
  • Class 602: Senior Doe (8 months or older)
  • Class 603: 6/8 (Intermediate) Buck (6-8 months)
  • Class 604: 6/8 (Intermediate) Doe (6-8 months)
  • Class 605: Junior Buck (under 6 months)
  • Class 606: Junior Doe (under 6 months)

Four Class Rabbit Breeds

  • Class 607: Senior Buck (6 months or older)
  • Class 608: Senior Doe (6 months or older)
  • Class 609: Meat Pen of three (rabbits weighing between 3.5-5.5 lbs each)
  • Class 610: Fryer (10-week-old rabbit weighing between 3.5-5.5 lbs)
  • Class 611: Roaster (under 6 months, weighing between 5.5-8 lbs)
  • Class 612: Stewer (over 6 months, weighing over 8 lbs)
  • Class 613: Commercial Fur (colored and white)

Showmanship

  • Junior: 8-11 years
  • Intermediate: 12-14 years
  • Senior: 15 years and older

Evening Entertainment and Carnival

The Show Me Ramblers will perform live music in the courtyard at 6:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their chairs to enjoy the performance.

The carnival will also run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
