The North Central Missouri College (NCMC) Scholarship Program was discussed at the Trenton Rotary Club meeting on March 14. Alicia Endicott, NCMC Director of Development, and Kristi Varner, Scholarship Coordinator/Grant Writer, presented the program.

NCMC has a scholarship endowment of more than $6 million. Last year, the endowment allowed the college to award 255 Foundation scholarships to individuals, totaling more than $260,000. Allied health scholarships were awarded to 63 students, totaling more than $60,000.

Endicott emphasized the importance of scholarships for NCMC students. The scholarships assist with books, fees, and housing for students who do not qualify for A+ funding.

Applications for the 2024-2025 Foundation scholarships are currently being accepted, with an April 1 deadline for submission.

The application period for the allied health scholarship opens on July 1.

The Trenton Rotary Club sponsors a scholarship named in honor of the late Charles B. Holmes. It is awarded annually, with Haley Shultz being the current recipient of the Holmes Scholarship.

Scholarship recipients have the opportunity to meet the individuals who fund their scholarships during an annual reception. The reception for the 2024-2025 scholarship year is scheduled for October 16.

Endicott announced that a groundbreaking ceremony and reception for the Doctor Neil and Susanne Nuttall Student Center is planned for April 10 at 3:30 p.m. The ceremony will feature the unveiling of a donor recognition wall in the student center to honor all scholarship donors.

During the business segment of the meeting, it was announced that a breakfast to recognize community volunteers will be held at the North 65 Center on April 23.

Members of the Trenton Rotary Club were reminded that April 4 is the deadline for donations to the club’s Shoes for Orphan Souls and Bright Futures shoe projects.
