National Weather Service issues heat advisory for 23 counties in Missouri

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has issued a heat advisory for a large portion of Missouri. The advisory is effective from 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, until 8 p.m. on Monday, July 15.

Heat index values are expected to reach between 105 and 110 degrees Fahrenheit. These extreme temperatures and high humidity levels can cause heat-related illnesses.

Residents are advised to take precautions such as staying hydrated, remaining in air-conditioned environments, avoiding direct sunlight, and checking on vulnerable family members and neighbors.
