Motorcycle rider dies in crash on Highway 38 in Marshfield

A fatal traffic crash occurred on July 19, 2024, at 6:57 p.m. on Highway 38 in Marshfield, Missouri. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident involved a 2012 Yamaha YZF-R6 motorcycle and a 2023 Ford F150.

The crash occurred when the Ford F150, driven by Timothy M. Stuart, 38, of Mansfield, Missouri, was turning eastbound onto Highway 38. The motorcycle, driven by Alexander L. Reed, 29, of Elkland, Missouri, was traveling westbound and struck the Ford F150 on the driver’s side. Both vehicles caught fire following the collision.

Alexander L. Reed was pronounced deceased at the scene by Webster County Coroner Michael Taylor at 7:14 p.m. Reed was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. His body was taken to Day Funeral Home in Marshfield.

Timothy M. Stuart sustained minor injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was using a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The incident marks Troop D’s 51st traffic fatality for 2024. The crash team, including Tpr. A.M. James and Cpl. T.R. Wright was assisted by Tpr. S.J. Hallam and Tpr. N.L. Vines in the investigation.
