A motorcycle accident occurred Tuesday evening, resulting in minor injuries to a 3-year-old rider on the motorcycle. The incident took place approximately 5 miles northwest of Lawson at a private residence around 6:21 p.m.

Dallas A. Arnold, 25, of Wheeling, was driving a 2003 Kawasaki 650 on private property when the motorcycle struck a fence and overturned. Arnold and a 3-year-old boy, who was riding in front of him, were both ejected and found lying on their backs near the crashed motorcycle, which came to rest on its side facing north.

Neither Arnold nor the rider were wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident. Following the crash, the child was transported to Excelsior Springs ER by a private vehicle for treatment of minor injuries.

Arnold was able to drive the motorcycle from the scene, which sustained only minor damage.
