Monroe City man injured in single-car crash on Highway W

A 21-year-old man from Monroe City, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle crash on August 16, 2024. The accident occurred at approximately 5:39 a.m. on Highway W, two miles southeast of Monroe City.

The crash involved a 2014 Ford Fiesta, driven by Hunter D. Whitt, who was traveling eastbound when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway. The car struck a ditch and overturned, resulting in significant damage. Whitt was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Hunter D. Whitt was transported via private vehicle to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Roberts Wrecker.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol, along with the Ralls County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe City Ambulance, and Fire Department, responded to the incident.
