The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in North Missouri for the week of March 11-17.
Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. There also may be moving operations throughout the region, in addition to the work mentioned below.
Andrew County
- U.S. Route 59 – Resurfacing project from Business U.S. 71 to Country Club Road through mid-April (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).
- Interstate 229 – Ditching work southbound at the 12.2-mile marker (north of Route K), March 11-15.
- Route O – Permit/utility work east of County Road 295, March 12-April 12.
Atchison County
Route 46 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Little Tarkio Creek east of Fairfax, through May 2024. (Contractor: North Central Bridge, LLC)
Buchanan County
- Loop 29 (Pear Street) – Resurfacing project from U.S. Route 169 (Belt Highway) to 22nd Street through mid-April (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).
- Route AC – Intersection and ADA improvements at Messanie Street through mid-May (Contractor: Herzog Contracting Corp.).
- I-229 – Utility work just north of East Lake Boulevard, March 10-14.
- On Sunday, March 10, from 7 a.m. to approximately 7:20 a.m., PAR Electric will be utilizing rolling roadblocks to run lines over I-229, in both directions. Motorists will experience delays.
- Route 31 – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from U.S. Route 169 to Route T, March 11, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Carroll County
- Route B – CLOSED for survey at the Sambo Creek Bridge between County Roads 326 and 318, March 4-15, Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
- Route 139 – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from County Road 120 to Route J, March 11, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Route 10 – Shoulder work from Route FF to the Ray County line, March 11-15.
Chariton County
- Route Z – Pothole patching from Usher Road to the end of state maintenance, March 11.
- Route 11 – Pothole patching from Route E to U.S. Route 24, March 12-15.
Clinton County
- Route H – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project from NE Estep Road to U.S. Route 69 through November 2024. (Contractor: Phillips Hardy, Inc.)
- U.S. Route 169 – Utility work southbound south of Hulse Road through March.
Gentry County
Route YY – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project at the Bear Creek Bridge through April 2024. (Contractor: Gene Haile Excavating, Inc.)
Holt County
I-29 – Bridge maintenance at the bridge over Squaw Creek, March 11-14. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane around the clock.
Livingston County
- Route D – CLOSED until further notice at the Rattlesnake Creek Bridge due to deterioration. This bridge is included for replacement in the Northwest Bridge Bundle. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in April 2024.
- Route D – Sidewalk improvements in Ludlow through early April. (Contractor: BRS Construction, LLC).
- U.S. Route 36 – Resurfacing and pavement improvement project from the Coon Creek bridge in Chillicothe to the Caldwell County line through June. One lane may be closed in either direction around the clock. A 15-foot width restriction will be in place with a 10-foot width restriction under the U.S. Route 65 bridge and the Kansas City Sub railroad bridge in Chillicothe. (Contractor: Magruder Paving, LLC).
Mercer County
- U.S. Route 136 – Pavement repair from Fedora Loop to Route U, March 11-13.
- Route J – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route E to Jockey Street, March 14, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Route B – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Airedale Avenue to Barrel Place, March 15, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nodaway County
Route AB – Pothole patching from U.S. Route 71 to Route 46, March 11-15.
