Missouri State Highway Patrol reports crash on Highway 169 in Gower

On July 24, 2024, at approximately 3:32 p.m., an accident occurred on Highway 169 at Dewey Avenue in Gower. The incident involved a 2013 Honda Pilot and a 2013 Dodge Durango.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when the Honda Pilot, driven by Matthew Aviles, 51, of Smithville, Missouri, was stopped on Highway 169 to make a westbound turn. The Durango, driven by Russell Plummer, 73, of Gower, Missouri, struck the rear of the Pilot.

Matthew Aviles, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate damage to his vehicle. The Honda Pilot was towed from the scene by J and K Auto.

Russell Plummer’s Dodge Durango sustained minor damage and was driven away from the scene. Plummer was also wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

An occupant of the Durango, Diana Plummer, 72, of Gower, Missouri, suffered minor injuries. She was transported by Tri-County EMS to Mosaic for medical treatment. Diana Plummer was wearing a seat belt during the accident.

The Gower Police Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol in managing the scene.
