Myra Silvey, a dedicated member of the California FFA Chapter and daughter of Dale and Kim Silvey, proudly exhibited the 2024 Grand Overall Champion Ham at the Missouri State Fair. This prestigious accolade reflects her commitment to excellence and the culmination of her hard work.

The honor of Reserve Overall Grand Champion Ham was awarded to Carsyn Petree of Tipton. Carsyn, the daughter of Garret Petree and Shonda Koechner, is an active member of the Tipton 4-H Club. Her achievement underscores the high level of competition and dedication demonstrated by young exhibitors across the state.

Kierstyn Lawson, also a member of the California FFA Chapter, received the Reserve FFA Champion Ham award. Kierstyn, the daughter of Jason and Stephanie Lawson, showcased her skills and knowledge in producing a top-tier ham, further establishing the California FFA Chapter’s reputation for excellence.

In addition, Addison Bradley, from Eldon, was recognized with the Reserve 4-H Champion Ham honor. The daughter of Tony and Jennifer Bradley, Addison is a member of the Eldon Nobles 4-H Club and her accomplishment highlights the strong representation of young agriculturalists in the Eldon community.

These young exhibitors will have the opportunity to sell their award-winning hams in the Missouri State Fair Inaugural Best of Missouri Sale, sponsored by America’s Heartland Packing, on Saturday, Aug. 17. Myra, Carsyn, Kierstyn, and Addison’s hams will be among 19 lots offered in the sale. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Missouri State Fair Youth in Agriculture Scholarship program, which supports the educational aspirations of Missouri’s future agricultural leaders.
