U.S. District Judge Audrey G. Fleissig sentenced Joshua T. Wilson, a registered sex offender from Monroe County, Missouri, to ten years in prison for crossing state lines to engage in sexual activity with a minor.

Wilson, 23, met the 16-year-old victim in the spring of 2022 and began interacting with her daily through online apps. They exchanged sexual conversations and images. Wilson later met with the teen and took her to Kansas, where he engaged in unlawful sexual activity with her.

In April, Wilson pleaded guilty to the charge of transporting a minor across state lines to engage in sexual activity. The FBI and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department conducted the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Dianna Edwards prosecuted the case.
