Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has initiated a probe into the involvement of St. Louis and Kansas City officials, as well as major transportation companies, regarding the Biden and Harris Administration’s alleged transport of illegal immigrants through Missouri. Bailey’s actions aim to address concerns about illegal immigration and ensure the state’s election integrity amidst these challenges.

Attorney General Bailey stated, “Under Joe Biden and Border Czar Kamala Harris’ Administration, there has been an orchestrated lack of enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws. That failure has not only led to impeachment proceedings against top officials in the federal government; it has given rise to an unprecedented level of state actions necessary to fill the vacuum created by the federal government’s ineptitude. The chaos unleashed at our open southern border has wreaked havoc on our communities, and now the individual states, including the State of Missouri, must stand in the gap as the federal government refuses to act.”

Last week, Bailey filed a lawsuit against the Biden/Harris Administration for refusing to disclose documents concerning the transportation of illegal immigrants into Missouri. Citing evidence that the administration has flown illegal aliens into St. Louis and Kansas City, Bailey has demanded records from the respective cities and their airports.

Bailey also issued warning letters to major airlines and transportation companies, reminding them that Missouri law prohibits the transportation of illegal immigrants through the state. In his letter to these companies, Bailey emphasized that Missouri law considers the “[t]ransportation of an illegal alien” into or through Missouri a class D felony. Companies and organizations facilitating such transport are subject to this law.

In addition to these measures, Bailey directed letters to every county clerk and prosecutor in Missouri, offering his assistance in ensuring that elections are conducted lawfully amid the wave of illegal immigration. He specifically offered help in prosecuting crimes committed by illegal immigrants, including those attempting to vote unlawfully.

In his letter to county officials, Bailey noted, “Among the most urgent issues facing our nation today is the flood of illegal aliens coming across our borders. Every state is dealing with a flood of negative impacts from nearly unrestricted immigration. By some estimates, there are over 72,000 illegal aliens in the State of Missouri. I am writing to assure you that you are not alone in the fight to protect our communities.”

Voting without proper documentation or knowingly aiding someone in voting unlawfully is a class one election offense under Missouri law. To vote in Missouri, an individual must be a U.S. citizen, a Missouri resident, and at least 18 years old. A photo ID is required for identity verification.

Attorney General Bailey has made his team of prosecutors, victim advocates, and other state resources available to support county officials in maintaining election integrity.
