A single-vehicle accident involving a 2001 Honda Civic occurred on July 19, 2024, at 8:25 p.m. on W 120th Street at N Gardner Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when the driver, Nathan W. Shore, 43, of Richmond, Missouri, failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle then traveled off the roadway, became airborne, and struck a tree.

Shore, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, sustained minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. The Honda Civic was totaled and was towed from the scene by Green’s Tow.

The Patrol accused Shore of driving while intoxicated, failing to drive on the right half of the road resulting in an accident, not wearing a seat belt, and failing to stop for a stop sign. He was taken to the Richmond Police Department on a 12-hour hold.

The Ray County Sheriff’s Department assisted at the scene of the crash.
