Melissa Renee Caldwell, 42, passed away on August 27, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born on November 17, 1981, in Cameron, Missouri, to Robert and Rita (Youngs) Caldwell.
Melissa graduated from Cameron High School and worked at the sheltered workshop in Stanberry.
In her loving and generous spirit, she chose to be a donor, giving the gift of life to many others.
Melissa loved life. She enjoyed spending time with children, listening to country music, attending concerts, making crafts, and talking on the phone.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Jay and Della Caldwell, and her maternal grandmother, Shirley Youngs.
Survivors include her mother, Rita Caldwell, of Cameron, Missouri; her father, Robert Caldwell (Cindy), of Winston, Missouri; her siblings, Melanie Youngs (Duste), of Kidder, Missouri, Bobby Caldwell (Deanne), of Winston, Missouri, and Emily Caldwell, of Cameron, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Donna Jo (Tanner), John (Hailey), Lilli, MaKayla, Kayne, Evan, and Ean; great-nieces and nephews, Logan, Winter, Morgan, Novalynn, and Lydia; and her maternal grandfather, Richard Youngs, of Cameron, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Poland-Thompson Chapel. Memorials may be given to the Cameron Public Schools for Special Olympics.
