MDC reports 18,904 deer harvested during late antlerless portion

Recent data released by the Missouri Department of Conservation indicates that deer hunters in Missouri have harvested a total of 18,904 deer during the late antlerless portion of the firearms deer season, which took place from December 2 to December 10.

The top harvest counties in the state included Callaway, with a count of 565 deer, followed by Pike with 513, and Lincoln with 385.

The top counties in the Green Hills region are:

  • Daviess County: 282 deer
  • Harrison County: 274 deer
  • Linn County: 171 deer

Other counties in the Green Hills also reported notable harvests. These include:

  • Mercer: 161 deer
  • Putnam: 126 deer
  • Livingston: 125 deer
  • Sullivan: 111 deer
  • Grundy: 105 deer
  • Caldwell: 94 deer

Comparatively, last year’s antlerless portion saw a harvest of 16,241 deer statewide, indicating an increase in this year’s harvest.

Additionally, the archery deer and turkey season will continue through January 15, while the alternative methods portion is scheduled from December 23 to January 2.
