Amazon has chosen Trenton as the site for its new distribution pod, thanks to the prior experience in the economic development of Trenton Mayor Jackie Soptic. An Amazon official, formerly with a consulting firm that developed an “economic recovery” plan for Trenton several years ago, facilitated this selection.
Mayor Soptic explained the circumstances leading to Amazon’s decision to build a distribution pod in the parking lot of Hostetler Grocery. The facility, which will resemble a storage unit, is expected to begin construction by late summer or early fall.
Amazon will soon seek applicants for a site manager and will contract delivery drivers. Job recruiting information will be announced once it becomes available.
