A Marceline man, Shane Allen Ware, 49, was sentenced to a total of 275 years in the Division of Adult Institutions on September 3 in Linn County.

Ware was convicted on multiple sex-related felony charges, resulting in one of the longest sentences handed down in the county in recent years.

Ware received a sentence of 20 years for each of the 10 counts of first-degree statutory sodomy. In addition, he was sentenced to 15 years for each of the five counts of first-degree child molestation. All sentences are to run consecutively, resulting in a cumulative total of 275 years.

The conviction came after a jury found Ware guilty of all counts in June.
